The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has revealed that the remaining 23 hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack were rescued through a non-kinetic operation.
The 23 kidnapped train passengers were set free at about 4:00 pm on Wednesday after being held captive for 6 months.
The DHQ said that the operation was carried out by the Nigerian Armed Forces, in conjunction with the security agencies, which led to the rescue of the victims.
According to him, the Presidential Committee made life-threatening sacrifices, as they had to go into the forest to meet with the terrorists and even slept in the bush.
The military Spokesman, Major General Musa Danmadami, made this known on Thursday during the bi-weekly media briefing on updates on military operations in the country.
