Dino Melaye has been holding one-man parliamentary sessions in his home.
He has also proposed a number of eye-opening bills and even sued the Speaker of the House of Representatives for acts he considers unlawful.
His latest bill seeks to restrain the House of Representatives and the Speaker from using Nigerians for human trials in COVID19 tests. The Christian Association of Nigeria also wrote a petition against the plans.
The bill is the Infections Diseases Bill 2020.
News monitored on AIT has Dino Melaye and his lawyers saying that they have filed a suit in court to restrain the lawmakers from passing the bill.

On his part, Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has debunked the claims saying that the house has no plans to use Nigerians for medical research. He adds that lawmakers have no plans to take away the fundamental human rights of Nigerians.
According to him,
“This house of Representatives will never take any action that purposes to bring harm to any Nigerian here at home or abroad. As we have thus far shown, by our conduct, the resolutions and actions we take in this 9th House of Representatives will always be in the interest of the Nigerian people who elected us, and no one else.
“The current law severely constrains the ability of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to take proactive action to prevent the entry into Nigeria of Infectious diseases and the management of public health emergencies when they occur.
In another development, Dino seeks to restrain the House of Representatives from passing the section 75 bill that speaks about the amendment of schedule.
Dino explains that the bill, if passed, removes the powers of the legislators to amend an act going by the provision of the bill. It rather grants a minister or a Director General the powers to amend an act.
He finds it ridiculous that lawmakers would even consider amending the act that takes away their statutory powers and grant limitless powers to the minister
