The double misfortune that befell Senate President, Ahmad Lawan does seem to have any end in sight as the youth leader in Yobe state, Bashir Machina, has refused to step down and hand over the senatorial ticket.
Trouble started after Lawan, one of the aspirants who contested the APC presidential ticket was defeated in the primary election.
Lawan lost to the party’s National Leader, Bola Tinubu, and wanted to reclaim the senatorial ticket in his constituency.
Unfortunately for him, Machina who was the sole candidate in the Yobe North APC senatorial primaries and was told to hold the ticket for Lawan in case he loses the presidential election refused to hand it over.
Other senatorial aspirants who indicated interest were told not to contest to enable Machina keep the ticket on hold for him
Some Nigerians have reacted to the development, mocking the senate president over his inability to reclaim the ticket.
Others begged Machina not to step down as everyone deserves good things.
