The Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN) reports that the Department of State Services (DSS) has summoned its leaders.

According to them, the DSS accused them of blocking foodstuff and cattle supply from the North to the South.

Addressing a press conference today, March 1st in Abuja, the General Secretary, AUFCDN said that the president of the association, Mohammed Tahir is currently with the DSS.

The stoppage of food transport has entered its fourth day in protest against the alleged killing of its members in various states in the South.

Meanwhile, the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere; Sunday Igboho; Gani Adams; and the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) are set to launch a campaign against cows.

The development was monitored in a Punch advertorial. The launch is scheduled for Friday, 5th of March, 2021.

Tagged “Anything But Cow Day, the campaign is in response to the blockade of food stuff to the South by Norther traders and farmers.

The campaign is already trending on Twitter as #endcowpandemic It is also themed ‘A one-day symbolic beef boycott towards terminating the cow pandemic – EndCOWVID-21.’
