There was an early morning tanker explosion at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, today, the 17th of November. The accident left at least 5 people dead.
The incident happened at about 4:46am near Tunji Alegi Filling Station in the Kwakyama area of Ogere, Ogun State.
Besides the dead, 5 vehicles parked along the road were burnt down.
The accident has been confirmed by the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, Florence Okpe.
Okpe said that operatives of the fire service in Sagamu, PTD Ogere and the Gateway Police Station, old toll gate, Ogere assisted to clear the scene and extinguish the inferno.
