ECOWAS has been condemned for appointing President Buhari to chair the West African fight against covid-19.
Former APC spokesman, Timi Frank wondered what the motive of the Economic Community of West African States is in taking such a decision. He also queried the criteria for the appointment.
Femi Fani-Kayode lamented that President Buhari can barely manage himself talk less of managing a whole region.
Tweeting as @RealTimiFrank, Frank said that:
“It is a disgrace to ECOWAS for appointing incompetent Buhari to champion the fight against COVID-19. For a man that doesn’t know what COVID-19 means. How can he now lead fight against what he doesn’t understand. U can’t give what you don’t have. May God help ECOWAS regions for this mistake.
Speaking further he said that “Even in the Bible, David killed Goliath because he showed leadership and proved competent to deliver the people from the enemies.
“@MBuhari is so incompetent and completely clueless. I think @Ecowas_cdc made a big mistake appointing Buhari to champion the fight against covid-19
“So I call on ECOWAS to reverse their position on Buhari to lead the fight against covid-19. This was the same mistake AU made when they appointed Buhari as champion to fight corruption in Africa. And now corruption is a usual breakfast in Africa.
“May God help us to save Nigeria.
Femi Fani-Kayode added that:
“The greatest mistake that the ECOWAS leaders have made is to appoint @MBuhari as the leader of the fight against covid-19. This is a cataclysmic error which they will deeply regret. He can barely manage himself and now you ask him to manage a sub-region of 400 million people ?
In another development, Timi Frank called on African leaders to forget about the benefits they derive from China and unite to condemn China’s racisim against Africans.
Frank praised the President of Tanzania for taking the lead in condemning the inhuman treatment of Africans by the Chinese.
According to him, “I hereby commend Tanzania President @MagufuliJP for speaking out against the oppression of Africans in China. I urge @_AfricanUnion and @ecowashr to forget their benefits and gains from China, and follow Magufuli’s footsteps in condemning the Chinese cruel acts against Africans.
“It is quite shameful that while other African Leaders such as Tanzanian President @MagufuliJP rejected Chinese loans.
“Presidential Taskforce are still busy begging the Chinese for COVID-19 Aides amidst how they’re treating Africans in China. What a shame! #timifranktalk
