The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo in Edo State has described his victory at the Federal High Court on Wednesday as a victory for democracy.
Asue Ighodalo said the collective will of the PDP members in Edo State and Edo residents prevailed through the court ruling.
He insisted that he is committed to his desire to make Edo better for her citizens.
On his X handle, the PDP governorship candidate said, “It’s victory for democracy!”
He continued, “Again, the collective will of our great Party members and the generality of Edo people have prevailed!
“We must remain focused on this journey to elect a people-centered and all-inclusive government that will bring Prosperity to all in Edo State.
“That is why I’m running for Governor. Together, We go do am!”
On its part, the PDP in a statement, called on the party members and Asue to work together to ensure victory of the party in the September election.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the victory of Ighodalo served as signpost to victory of the party.
“The PDP congratulates Dr. Asue Ighodalo and urges all Party members to remain united and continue to work together with the majority of the people of Edo State to ensure the victory of our party and candidate in the September 21, 2024 governorship election,” Debo’s statement on Wednesday read in part.
