The All Progressives Congress candidate in the Ekiti State governorship election, Biodun Oyebanji has been dragged online after he was spotted giving an aged woman money during the election.
Biodun Oyebanji and his wife Olayemi cast their votes at Okelele ward 06 unit 003 Ikogosi Ekiti, Ekiti West Local Government of the State and toured other polling units.
About 3 hours ago, the APC candidate posted:
“Ikogosi | Saturday, June 18, 2022
“I have just exercised my civic responsibility by casting my vote at Polling Unit 003, ward 06, Oke Lele Compound in Ikogosi community. The process is peaceful, free and fair.
“I therefore urge all eligible voters in Ekiti to come out in mass to perform their duty in choosing their next governor, not forgetting to abide by set rules and regulations as prescribed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).“
In the photo that surfaced online, Oyebanji was captured giving an aged woman some Naira notes.
The gesture generated mixed reactions from Nigerians. While some claimed it was vote-buying others said Oyebanji was only helping the woman.
