The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has revealed that a tweet he made about ‘Obidients’, the supporters of Peter Obi was reported to Twitter on Monday.

Obi is the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

In a subtle mockery of Obi’s supporters, and after one of them identified as Abdullahi Zarma called for 2 million people to join the Kaduna rally for the presidential candidate, El Rufai posted the feedback from the microblogging platform.

El-Rufai had earlier reacted to the planned by ‘Obidients’ with laughing emojis, saying that he hoped Obi gets 200 people to join the rally.

He added that the only people he could visualise joining are traders from the east who would take advantage of the is-at-home order by IPOB to travel to Kaduna with a night bus.

His statement stirred controversies on social media, with many supporters of Obi raising concerns about the his action.

The governor said Twitter received a complaint from a user in Germany about his tweet.

According to the private message sent by the microblogging site to El-Rufai, the content was not subject to removal under Twitter rules.

El-Rufai wrote that he found the whole report and Twitter’s reaction hilarious.

According to Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai: “The desperation of so-called ‘Obidients’ knows no bounds….they insult everyone they disagree with, but cannot accept that some find them disagreeable & have opinions too!

One of them in Germany found my tweet too hot to handle. ⁦@Twitter responded below. I STILL DEY LAFF!”
