The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf has headed to the Supreme Court after the judgment of the Appeal Court that sacked him from office.
The Appeal Court sacked Yusuf, of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) citing ineligibility to contest. The court also declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Nasiru Gawuna, winner of the governorship election in the state.
There has been confusion over the Appeal Court judgement that sacked Yusuf.
The court has asked concerned lawyers to return certified true copies of its judgement for corrections.
The Appeal Court had ruled that Yusuf was not a member of the NNPP during the election.
However, the certified true copies of the judgement triggered confusion as it indicated that the court upheld Yusuf’s victory.
