Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican descent who withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest due to questions about her nationality, has announced her participation in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant.
Hettysmedia earlier reported that Adetshina was invited to participate in the Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant after she stepped down from the Miss South Africa contest despite being a Top 11 Finalist.
She gave up the competition after the South African Department of Home Affairs alleged that her mother may have committed fraud and identity theft.
In a new video, Adetshina announced that she has accepted the invitation.

Hello everyone 🫶🏾My name is Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina. I cannot start this video without expressing my gratitude to all the amazing/incredible people that have shown me so much love and support.
I have received an invitation from the Silverbird Group who are the organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 ,and I say this with great excitement because I have decided to accept this invitation.
I understand the responsibilities and expectations that come with this title and I am so excited to embark on this journey.
