The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar has cancelled the Durbar festival which normally holds during Sallah.
The traditional ruler explained that the event was cancelled as a result of the growing insecurity in the region and across the country.
Equally banned is all visits to the Emir from district heads on Sallah day.
The directives were sighted in a circular dated 6th of May, 2021, issued by the royal father and addressed to all district heads in the emirate.
The document was signed by Danejin Daura, Alhaji Abdulmumini Sahihu and given to Daily Trust today, Sunday the 9th of May, 2021.
The directive urged all district heads to conduct Eid prayers within their various domains and to pray for peace in Nigeria.
The directive:
“The Emir instructed me to inform you that, due to the insecurity in the country, kidnappings for ransom and other threats to national stability, the usual Sallah Durber will not hold this Eid-El-Fitr.
“Instead, the focus will be on performing special prayers on the Sallah day as soon as the Eid prayers are performed.
“You are by this notice to inform all the Imams to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari (Bayajida II) and other leaders for protection from all evils of the enemies of progress of this country, its stability and its corporate existence.“
