Bandits on Wednesday, stormed a farm belonging to the Emir of Kontangora killing one of his sons in the attack.

Late Alhaji Bashir Saidu Namaska, the Emir’s son, is among several persons killed on the farm located along Zuru Road.

The number of people killed is not yet known but a large number of cattle was rustled. The Bandits are also reported to have mounted a road block where they flagged down both commercial and private vehicles and collected their phones, money and other valuables.

Commuters without valuables or cash were alleged to have been beaten mercilessly and taken to an unknown destination.

The late son of the Emir who is also the Sardauna of Kontagora is said to have been holding forth for his father who has been indisposed.

Speaking on conditions of anonymity, a government source said that “It is true that the bandits invaded Kontangora town and shot several people and killed the Emir’s son, Alhaji Bashar. His death will be formally announced soon and he will be buried immediately.

“He was rushed to the hospital after he was shot but confirmed dead.”

The police is, however, yet to react to the incident as at Thursday morning.
