#ENDSARS will go down in history as Africa’s most coordinated mass protests ever.
It is no doubt obvious that the protesters have everything figured out and effectively executed as they defy Wednesday’s heavy rain to block major city gates of of the country.
They all showed up with rain kits including umbrellas, raincoats, rain-boots, medication and ambulances.
The planning will, for decades to come, be adjudged as the most organised with the following effectively coordinated:
- Regular food supply
- Energy boosters
- Water in abundance
- Volunteer Medical Doctors
- Crowd and ready funding
- Accountability by everyone
- Strict instructions on trending issues
- Assurances that no one is the protest leader in spite of celebrity efforts at recognition
- Volunteer Lawyers to attend to legal issues and bail out anyone held by the police or other law enforcement agents
- Co-ordinated and effective use of all social media platforms
- Volunteer and dedicate sanitary workers
- Mobile toilets and bathrooms
- Resilience even in the face of exhaustion
- Co-operation/watching out for each other
- Miscreants and hoodlums put their vices at bay to fight the common cause
As early as 4:00am, this Wednesday morning, early commuters rose to a strong siege on all the toll gates despite the very heavy downpour.
One of the most vocal of the participants and anti-bad-governance campaigner, Aisha Yesufu made an early morning call that the youth had the government where they wanted them. They must therefore not back down until there is a marked reform:
She told them in a video post:
“Let me tell you something, you have the government where you want the government. You are doing amazing. You have them right where you want them.
“Please don’t get distracted over this issue of who is this, who is that, who is not what. Eye on the ball. Forget the distraction. There is nothing yet for you to go into fighting mode over.
“…Focus on the message. Yeah, we’ve seen the headline from the government but we haven’t seen the execution plan.
“What is the basis for the committee ? Can the government bring an execution plan ?”
Yesufu demands milestones for the execution of the all the plans the government has listed.
She advised that protester who gets bribed by government be kicked out so those with genuine intentions can take continue.
For her, anything that held the older generation back and prevented Nigeria’s progress must be avoided by all means.
She enjoined her friends to stay focused as the youth have found their voice they can have a great nation.
The protests have trended continuously on international news media with notable international personalities commending the Nigerian Youths.
