A former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka has reacted to the arrest of Uche Nwosu, son-in-law of a former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
News broke on Sunday, the 26th of December about the arrest which many initially assumed was another case of kidnap.
Heavily armed men stormed St Peter’s Angican Church, Eziama Obieri in Nkwerre Local Government Area of the State.
They shot sporadically in the air, grabbed and whisked away the former Deputy Chief of Staff to the Imo State Governor and former Commissioner for Lands
In a statement issued almost immediately after Nwosu was flung into the boot of a vehicle and driven away, Michael Abattam, disclosed that the politician was not kidnapped as widely reported.
Abattam disclosed that he was arrested on the orders of the IGP from Abuja.
Reacting to the arrest on his Facebook page on Sunday evening, Former Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka condemned the police for invading the church just to arrest the politician.
He described the church invasion as a desecration of the house of God calling on Christian groups and bodies to speak against it,
He stated that even the late German dictator, Adolf Hitler respected the church during the 2nd World War and would not arrest anyone inside the church.
According to Osita Chidoka,
“So Police entered a Church and arrested Uche Nwosu? They desecreated the Church to make an arrest?
“This is unacceptable and the Church and all well-meaning Nigerians should not take this lying down.
“Even the Nazis respected the Church during the 2nd World war. Nigerian Police just fell to a new low under a clueless national leadership.
“Mad people everywhere“
