The Oromoni family, today, 4th of December, celebrated their son and brother, Sylvester Oromoni’s 12th birthday.
His father yesterday, wept bitterly when he remembered Sly’s dreams of becoming a pilot. He insisted he would celebrate the birthday regardless of the plans of his killers.
Mr Oromoni recalled how his son loved the pilot profession and stated that he would still buy a cake, do a life-size picture of him in the pilot’s outfit and honour him with the birthday celebration.
The late Dowen College student was tortured by senior students of his school in, Lekki.
He was constantly bullied and threatened with death if he ever reported their wickedness to anyone.
In addition to the emotional and physical harassment, the seniors constantly stole his pocket money, groceries and valuables but he was too scared to disclose the abuse to the authorities or family members.
The family made a slideshow of Sylvester’s childhood right up to his school days. The slide show was accompanied with tributes expressing what he meant to them and how much they love him.
Reports say that the bullies are all from influential homes and at least 2 of them have been flown out of the country.
“Sylvester Oromoni, the father of the late student of Dowen College Lekki, Lagos, has alleged that parents of students responsible for torturing his son are on the move to fly them out of the country.
“The parents of the boys are wealthy. They withdrew them. The school called the parents to pick their wards; interviewed them. Some of the parents are planning to fly the children out of the country,” Mr Oromoni alleged.”
