Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has made a surprise donation to the campaign of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, despite his brother being a chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP).
Isaac Fayose made the announcement of the donation of his property, Viewpoint Resort, located in Ibadan, to support the Peter Obi campaign in a social media post on Thursday.
In a trending video, he added that he will also make a cash donation of N20 million and urged all ‘Obidients’ to help realise the expected N50 billion needed to build the Labour Party campaign structure.
According to Isaac: “…If you are Obidients, and you are in Ibadan, we need to identify our polling units.
“I think about 1000-plus in Ibadan. Now, you guys have a place to hold your meetings.
“There is no business activity going on till I sell the place. We can use it for Peter Obi till after elections.”
Isaac Fayose had initially said that Obi would need up to N50billion naira to ‘build structure’ to be able to win the 2023 presidential election.
He added that while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu has popularity, money and structure, Obi is the most popular on social media, but according to him, social media popularity alone can’t win the election for the former Anambra State Governor.
In Fayose’s words, “Out of all the candidates, Obi is the most popular. If we vote today on social media, he will win. But an election is structure-based. So, Obi will need N50 billion to be able to make that government a reality. Fifty billion, yes, Obi will win.
“Remember, Tinubu is a little bit popular too. He has what they call structure. The structure alone is worth fifty billion. He has what they call goodwill. They call him ‘The City Boy’. So ‘where him money no fit reach, him structure go reach, where him structure no fit reach, him popularity go reach.
“Obi, with fifty billion, will manage to buy his own army to defeat Tinubu.”
Fayose said that Nigerians must not be deceived by Atiku and his promises because whether he wins or not, he will return to his base in Dubai.

Other Nigerians have equally made pledges to the success of the Labour Party campaign ahead of the 2023 election.
Oluwatosin Akinfenwa Idowu: “In my own little capacity and capability, I will be donating 500k naira… I am fully #OBIdient + in my polling unit on election day, there will be lunch for voters.”
Akpogbeta Buckwell: “As for me my 100k is ready to support Mr Peter Obi.”
