First City Monument Bank has appointed Yemisi Edun as the Acting Managing Director following the exit of Nuhu Adamu on leave.
Ms Edun has a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife and a Masters degree in International Accounting and Finance from the University of Liverpool, UK.
Her appointment follows a probe started by the bank on the infidelity allegations against the current MD, Adamu Nuhu.
Nuhu is alleged to be involved in a case of adultery with a subordinate, Mrs Moyo Thomas. The affair led to the death of her husband from depression and a heart attack after she fled the country to the US and called to reveal the paternity of the children she though were his.
Reports also say she has filed for asylum in the US as she feared violence on the part of her legal husband if she ever returned home.
The newly appointed FCMB Acting Managing Director is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a CFA Charter Holder.
She is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers; An Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; a Member of Information Systems Audit and Control, USA and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Yemisi Edun began her career with Akinola Williams Deloitte (Member of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu) in 1987 with focus in Corporate Finance activities.
In addition, she participated in the audit of Finance and other financial institutions.
Ms Edun joined the FCMB in year 2000 as Divisional Head of Internal Audit before taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer and now acting Managing Director.
