There was fierce gun battle today at the Idumota area of Lagos Island as hoodlums engaged each other in blood bath.
Many traders and residents scampered to safety as scary looking thugs wielded dangerous weapons including sophisticated guns, cudgels and machetes, cutting down every human in sight and shattering windscreens and shop windows and doors.
The clash is alleged to have started since Thursday and extended to Friday. The reason is not yet known.
People have been warned to stay away from the area while security operatives including the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos Neighbourhood agents and other task forces try to resort peace.
According to EONS Intelligence, “Violent attacks accompanied with sporadic shootings in Idumota area of Lagos State as hoodlums from the area clash with hoodlums from Kosoko/Oluwole, Martins and Balogun. The situation in the area is currently tensed.”
