A massive fire is reported to have razed no less than 47 buildings including classrooms at the Tsangaya model boarding primary school in Kano State.
Also gutted in the inferno are homes, offices and toilets.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed in a statement made available to journalists on Monday evening, that no life was lost in the incident.
He, however, noted that the fire destroyed 14 classrooms, 12 offices, and 21 toilets within the school premises located at Kiyawa village, Bagwai Local Government Area of Kano state.
Abdullahi explained that the Bichi Fire Service station received an emergency call from a resident of the area, one Alhaji Gaddafi Sani Bagwai, that there was a fire outbreak in the school.
He said that upon arrival at the school, the rescue team discovered that the inferno engulfed a building used as Tsangaya Model boarding primary school.
The fire agency discovered from its investigation that the fire started from the administrative block, pointing out that the school solar system was the cause of the fire.
Abdullahi assured that all the pupils of the school were rescued unhurt.
