First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has urged the Nigerian women to adopt the spirit of unity ahead of the 2023 general elections.
She gave the advise while playing host to the Vice President of Liberia, Jewel Howard-Taylor.
The VP is in Nigerian to take part in the maiden edition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Progressive Women Conference.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady called on members of the APC to all adopt new strategies to ensue more women participation in decision-making.
She stressed that the oneness of the women would help them make a stronger impact in the electoral process.
The wife of the president also asked stakeholders to support the women populace towards realising their demand for increased participation in politics.
In her words, “Women need to be encouraged to participate more in politics and the country needs out participation.
“It is necessary to look forward to how best we can work together to unite women in the forthcoming campaigns ahead of 2023 elections.”
She commended Howard-Taylor’s presence at the event and said that the VP’s words would boost the morale of women participating at the conference.
“I am convinced that your record as a former Liberian First Lady and a professional in politics will add value to the to the event.
On her part, Howard-Taylor call for more allocation of resources for woman education, empowerment, protection as well as maternal and child health.
