Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari has taken a swipe at the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, in reaction to a video he shared.
The fearless and vocal First Lady is known to speak truth to power. She has on some occasions publicly pointed out flaws even with the presidency and condemned the actions of some of her husband’s appointees.
She once rose an alarm over what she considered an invasion of her home by extended family, in addition to publicly condemning the poor state of the State House clinic which had nothing to show for the huge budget it gets annually.
On Sunday, she shared a post on her Instagram page showing Isa Pantami in tears during one of his sermons.
He broke down in tears alongside the reciter of a verse of the Holy Quran.
“That is the Garden we shall give as their own to those of Our servants who were devout.”
Weeping, Pantami responded, “O Allah ! Make me one of them. O Allah ! Make me one of them.”
Aisha who shared the video wrote a short message in Hausa. According to aishambuhari, “A Reminder
Achire tsoro ayi abinda ya dace.”which may be interpreted as “Be courageous to do the right thing.”
It is however not clear why Aisha posted the video on her account and the statement she shared with it.
