Veteran Juju Musician and Elder Statesman, Ebenezer Obey says that it takes a “a foolish old man” to take a young lady as wife.

He made his mind known during an interview with the Nation newspaper when he was asked if he planned to take another wife. This is in view of the death of his wife, Juliana Olufade who passed since 2011.

In the words of the 78-year old Evangelist:

“Mary a young lady ? It’s a foolish old man that will say he wants to marry a young lady. The young lady has just started her life and definitely virile and strong.

Someone Like me should be thinking of a woman who is 60 or above. When I do it, everyone will know. I can marry at anytime, not just for the sake of marriage, but for the sake of companionship.

“I have been blessed. What else do I want ? I have children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren. As long as I still have life, you will hear when the time for marriage comes.”

Ebenezer Obey formed his music band, The International Brothers in 1964 having undergone tutelage under Fatai Rolling Dollars.
