Nigerian citizens have commenced day two of their protest against some the policies of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration which has plunged the nation into economic hardship.
Some of the policies are adjudged as poorly thought through and lacking in competent manpower to implement them.
Frustrated masses who claim to have endured so much began a #BadgovernanceinNigeria protest yesterday, August 1st. They plan to stage the protest for 10 days, ending August 10th.
Day one of the protest was mixed across the country with many northern States experiencing violence, looting, vandalism and killings, while states in the South saw largely peaceful protests.
Northern Nigeria:
Kano, Yobe and Borno States declared 24-hour curfew to curb violence that they experienced on day 1.
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force on Friday reportedly fired teargas canisters at #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters in Abuja.
Reports revealed that protesters assembled at the popular Berger roundabout in Abuja today to continue their protest against the economic hardship in the country, which commenced on Thursday, August 1.
However, journalists covering the protest were not spared on Friday as security operatives tear-gassed at various locations where the protesters had gathered.
Lagos:
#EndBadGovernance protesters in Lagos have converged at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos to continue their demonstrations.
There is heavy police presence at the scene of the protest. However, some men alleged to be hoodlums attempted to hijack the activities but were resisted at the venue.
