After weeks of self isolation, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama says he has recovered from covid19.
He disclosed this on his official Twitter handle today, Wednesday, 12th August and has since resumed his official duties.
Onyeama thanked his family, President Muhammad Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the medical team that looked after him, spiritual fathers as well as all Nigerians for their care, support and prayers.
In his tweet, the Minister said that:

Geoffrey Onyeama announced that he tested positive to #COVID19 on the 19th of July, 2020 and would be proceeding on self isolation in line with Federal Government protocols.
He added that it was his 4th test following symptoms of throat irritation. At that time, the Minister tweeted that “that is life ! Win some, lose some. Heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best.”
Onyeama has been one of those in the forefront of the battle against the covid19 pandemic. He has consistently reassured Nigerians about the efforts the government is making to win the battle against the disease.
