Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama Tests Positive to Covid19

Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama has tested positive to covid19.

He posted the information via his confirmed Twitter handle today, Sunday the 19th of June, 2020.

According to him, he has had three #COVID19 tests in the past, all of which were negative. However, at the first sign of a throat irritation on Saturday, he undertook the 4th test which turned out positive.

Onyeama announced that for that reason, he will be heading to isolation in a health facility.

“Did my fourth covid19 test yesterday at the first sign of a throat irritation and unfortunately, this time, it came back positive.

The Foreign Minster added that, “that is life ! Win Some lose some. heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best.

Geoffrey Onyeama has been in the fore front of evacuating Nigerians stranded in foreign countries since the deadly virus swept across the the world causing immeasurable fatalities.

For countries that had diplomatic issues with Nigerian citizens including China, his diplomatic prowess has helped douse tensions.

Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari and Onyeams’s childhood friend tested positive to covid19 and died of the disease.
