Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has condemned supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi popularly known as Obidients for harassing Chicago State University on Twitter.
The American University locked its account on Twitter after various backlash from certain individuals concerning the academic records of President Bola Tinubu.
A check on the institution’s Twitter account indicated that the University had indeed barred non-followers from viewing its post.
Reacting to the development, Ahmad warned that harassing the university was counterproductive and harmful.
He insisted that it is more meaningful to express one’s opinions respectfully, rather than resorting to subtle insults.
Speaking via Twitter, he wrote, “Harassing a respected institution to the point where they lock up their Twitter/X account is counterproductive and harmful; it will never be an achievement. Peter Obi and his supporters should know that it is important to express opinions respectfully and engage in meaningful conversations rather than resorting to tactics that stifle discourse.”
