A former military Governor of Ondo State, Retired Rear Admiral Sunday Abiodun Olukoya is dead.
The retired military General died from a yet to be disclosed illness on Tuesday.
Rear Admiral Olukoya was Governor of Ondo State between 1989 and 1992 before the state was split into Ondo and Ekiti.
He had his tenure under the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.
The late Olukoya took over power from Retired Commodore Olabode George and was later succeeded by Bamidele Olomilua.
His funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.
Olukoya’s death is coming after the death of former Senator Otunba Olabiyi Durojaye who represented Ogun East Senatorial District.
He served from 1999 to 2003.
Durojaye died in the early hours of Tuesday after a brief illness in a Lagos hospital.
