Former Governorship aspirant, Babatunde Gbadamosi has owned up to being at Actress Funke Akindele’s party.

However, his account differs from Funke Akindele’s to the extent of the number of people at the event as well as how all the guests arrived at the actress’s home.

Funke Akindele had told her fans in a video release that everyone at the party was resident at her apartment way before the government lockdown directive till the day of the party. According to her, nobody came from outside her home.

However, Former Governorship aspirant, Babatunde Gbadamosi speaks about arriving from his house. While at the venue, another celebrity came in with a large entourage. Unfortunately, he failed to leave immediately considering the government order.

Incidentally, Gbadamosi, is the owner of the Amen Estate where the Bellos reside. He was also a highly rated gubernatorial candidate during the March 2019 general elections.

He contested under the PDP  but lost to Babatunde Fashola in 2011. In 2015, he lost the PDP nomination ticket to Jimi Agbaje and went on to contest in March 2019 under the Action Democratic Party, but lost to APC’s Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

His version:

“We went to visit Mr an Mrs Bello to celebrate Mr Bello’s birthday with him and we believed we were the only ones going to meet with the family and the staff at their home and that is exactly what happened.

“After we arrived, at about an hour or so, a celebrity came and he had a large number of people with him.

“At that point, I think perhaps we should have left. I consider that as a lapse of judgement on my own part and I apologise for it.

“That doesn’t mean that I disregard policies that have been put out by health care authorities around the world.

“I subscribe fully to it and I ask you all to please keep observing social distancing as a means of preventing coronavirus from spreading around Nigeria.

“Do note please that everybody at that gathering is a resident of Gbadamosi close, not just of Amen Estate.

“Once again, I sincerely apologise for what happened and thank you all for your patience, concern and also for the messages.

“We are all safe and will continue to be safe in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.”
