A former Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG), Princess Aderenle Adeniran-Ogunsanya is dead.
Aged 73, Adeniran-Ogunsanya died today, Tuesday, 25th of January, 2022 after a yet to be disclosed illness.
The late top civil servant was the SSG to the Babatunde Raji Fashola administration in 2007 and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Known for her grassroot politics, Aderenle left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a massive team of supporters to join the Action Congress (AC) in 2006. AC later became the ruling APC.
In appreciation of her contribution to the party’s success in the 2007 governorship election, she was appointed Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG) on the 18th of June 2007.
She was the daughter of a prominent Lagos lawyer and renowned First Republic politician, Prince Adeniran Ogunsanya.
He was among the chief-founders of the Ibadan Peoples Party (IPP). He served as a Lagos State commissioner for Justice and Education and during the Second Republic, the astute politician became the chairman of the Nigerian People’s Party
Political associates of late Princess Aderenle Adeniran-Ogunsanya, including APC chieftain, Fouad Oki and a member of the PDP, Abdul Azeez Adeniran, better known as Jandor have expressed their condolences on her demise.
