Former Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has taken up another appointment at the global stage.
He made the announcement on July 11, 2023 saying he is very excited,
According to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who served as the Vice President of Nigeria from May 29, 2015 to May 29, 2023 on a two-term joint ticket with the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari, his new appointment is as ”Global Advisor to Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet”
In a post monitored on his social media handles, Osinbajo reiterated the global body: “@globalenergyalliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) is thrilled to announce the appointment of the former Vice President of Nigeria, H.E. @profosinbajo, as a Global Advisor, guiding our mission to accelerate #cleanenergy deployment in emerging economies.
“A champion for just energy transitions in Africa, he will work alongside our global GEAPP teams to unlock greater capital flows into the #cleanenergy sector and boost Africa’s share in the global carbon market through the Africa Carbon Markets Initiative (ACMI).
“GEAPP’s vision for change is ambitious. That is entirely fitting; if we’re to achieve our twin goals of universal energy access and climate change action, while transforming the lives of millions, then we must set our sights high.”
Describing his state of mind, the former VP added that “I am excited to announce that I have been appointed Global Advisor to Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet @globalenergyalliance . Together, we will work to unlock capital flows into the clean energy sector and boost Africa’s share in the global carbon market through #ACMI
