Free Life Insurance cover is now available for Nigerian medical workers. The announcement was made yesterday by the Chairman, Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.

Boss Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation said this during the 9th briefing of the Taskforce. According to him, the cover is for frontline workers fighting the coronavirus disease.

He added that the premium sum of N112,500,000 has been fully paid for 5,000 workers for the free, life insurance cover by the Nigerian Insurance Industry under the principle of No Premium, No Cover.

In his words, “The premium in the sum of N112.5 million for the cover has been fully paid by the Nigerian Insurance Industry in line with the principle of No Premium, No Cover.

“The PTF wishes to thank the insurance industry immensely and calls on other sectors of the economy to rise up to support the efforts to fight covid-19.

“I also call on or frontline workers to double their efforts just as we assure them of our determination to protect them.”

Yesterday, bhettyosblog reported that no fewer than 40 health workers had tested positive to the killer disease. Out of that number, 4 have already died.
