The freed 70 pupils of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School in Tegina town today, met with the Governor of their State, Sani Bello at the Government House in Minna, the State capital.
The pupils were kidnapped by terrorist in broad daylight on the 30th of May. They were released on Thursday evening.
The principal of the school confirms that every single kidnapped pupil has now returned.
Reports say that all the pupils were released after the terrorists received N65 million and motorbikes as ransom.
The freed pupils were received at the government house alongside their parents. Some government officials were also present.
The principal of the school had initially said the terrorists had initially demanded N110 million out of which the parents were only able to muster N35 million.
Notwithstanding, the terrorists increased the ransom to N200 million.
Among the pupils are children between 3 and 9 years.
