Fubara Schedules Swearing in of Newly Elected Local Government Chairmen

Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, is set to swear the newly elected local government chairmen into office today (Sunday).

The ceremony will hold at the Executive Council Chambers of the state’s Government House in Port Harcourt, by 4:00 pm.

This was disclosed via a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo.

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, declared the winners of the local government elections, with 22 of 23 LGAs won by the Action Peoples Party (APP).

The statement reads: “His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear-in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4:00 pm.

The newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 pm.”
