Governor Bala Muhammed has advised that the Fulani man is a global/African citizen.
For that reason, they do not have borders and speak the language of every region, from Cameroun to Nigeria so Nigerian’s should take it as part of our heritage as a country.
“He moves from The Gambia, from Senegal … and his nationality is just a Fulani Man.”
For Governor Muhammed, the Fulani is not bound by any land border.
He adds however, that the crisis are precipitated by those outside Nigeria. For him “when there is a reprisal, it is not the Fulani man within Nigeria that causes it. It is that culture of getting revenge which is embedded in the tradition of the Fulani man that attracts reprisal from all over the place.”
He said that the $100 billion grant to settle the Fulani herdsmen will capture everyone of them within and outside Nigeria.
The amount is meant to persuade them to stop killing Nigerians.
However, the project has “to be done through sensitisation.” Nigerians have to buy in.”
The Governor added that criminalisation of pastoralism is the problem with the planned project but that it will certainly be achieved through sensitisation.
