The Chicago State University (CSU) has confirmed in its deposition that President Bola Tinubu was a student of the institution, who graduated in 1979.
The Registrar of the University, Caleb Westberg, made this known in a deposition done on the orders of Judge Nancy Maldonado of the District Court of the Northern Illinois District in Chicago.
During the deposition, the CSU official affirmed the validity of the Diploma Certificate and the Certified True Copy presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by President Bola Tinubu, saying that the document was not forged.
Westberg stated this during the deposition done on Wednesday in the office of Angela Liu, the lawyer to the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
He stated that the school does not have a copy of the certificate issued to Tinubu in 1979 when he graduated, as the university does not keep certificates, except those ones not collected by their owners.
The CSU registrar said the certificate of Tinubu collected by a lawyer Enahoro-Ebah was the one Tinubu applied for and did not collect, saying that he did not know why he did not collect it.
Pressed many times to say that the Tinubu admitted in 1977 was female, Westberg said the information available in Tinubu’s file is that he is male, as the admission letter clearly shows.
