The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has enrolled in a university considered as one of the most prestigious in American.

He announced that he enrolled for a leadership course at the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

He made the announcement in a tweet via his verified Twitter page on Tuesday.

Femi Gbajabiamila also shared pictures of himself receiving a lecture alongside some of his classmates at the institution.

The Speaker noted that one is never too old to learn to broaden or sharpen his or her skills.

Gbajabiamila’s tweet comes hours after the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Lagos State chapter, gave the Federal Government two weeks ultimatum to resolve its issues with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The Lagos NLC Chairperson, Agnes Sessy, stated this during a protest in support of the ongoing ASUU strike held in Ikeja, the state capital on Tuesday.

She warned that refusal to comply with ASUU demands could lead to a massive nationwide protest, similar to that of the infamous ENDSARS protest of 2020.

Sessy said that ASUU had shut all public universities and commenced its ongoing strike on the 14th of February after the FG failed to meet some of its demands

The demands include the release of revitalisation funds for universities, renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, release of earned allowances for university lecturers, and deployment of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution platform for the payment of salaries and allowances of university lecturers.
