GCE Candidates Stranded As They Are Turned Away from Exam Centre in Victoria Island (video)

Education News

Candidates of the General Certificate Examination (GCE) posted to the National Open University (NOUN) in Victoria Island for their exams today, January 30, were denied entry after they arrived at the centre.

The students were left stranded, with many unsure about their next course of action.

They were reportedly turned away because students of NOUN were sitting for exams and the institution could not allow external activities.

The students were eventually sent to a different venue located inside the market in Lagos Island to write their exams.

Videos shared online show the candidates waiting outside the new exam venue while a hall was getting prepared for them to sit for their exams.

Parents of some of the candidates accused GCE organisers of incompetence. They pointed out that they were given no prior notice of a change of venue until the candidates had arrived at the exam centre.
