The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has renamed the Redemption Camp.
According to the respected octogenarian, the camp will now be known as Redemption City.
Adeboye explained that the Camp will henceforth carry the tag of a city, just like the Vatican City in Rome.
The ring road in the Camp was also named after the founder of the church, Pastor Josiah Akindayomi.
The sprawling pentecostal prayer ground, located at the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, comprises several auditoriums where 10s of million worshippers gather to pray monthly, halls, hostels, hotels, schools, banks, a university, playgrounds, gardens, farms and residential houses.
Daddy G O as he is fondly called announced the change of name at the end of the Church’s Ministers’ Conference.
He also announced that pastors aged 70 and above would retire from active preaching.
