It is happening at a private funeral at the Fountain of Praise Chuch in Houston. The African American community turned out in there thousands to mourn one died the death so many. To most of them, it could have been any man of colour. It could have been anyone of them.
Floyd died on May 25th after Chauvin fatally pinned him down with a knee on his neck, hard on a concrete pavement. George Floyd suffocated in the process.
Governor Roy Cooper however adds that Floyd was not the first victim of excessive force. According to him, too many other pole of colour have been harassed, harmed injured or killed. Cooper said that the unfortunate situation has made the current happenings “a spotlight too bright to ignore.”
Meanwhile, the New York police boss Mike O’meara went on an unusual tangent today.
According to him, the public treats police men like animals. They have also been vilified and killed. Unfortunately, no one is interested in hearing their own story. he insists that what Derek Chauvin did is disgusting and alien to their professional calling.
In his opinion, the legislators have also let the cops down. He therefore admonished the public to stop treating cops as villains and start treating them with some respect.
In a public address this evening, Mike said, “stop treating us like animals and thugs and start treating us with some respect. …Our legislators have abandoned us. The press is vilifying us. It’s disgusting.
Expectedly, both white and African Americans have condemned his speech tagging it as a mere “definition of hypocrisy and irony.”
