Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, have decried the situation where the Nigerian government officials are more concerned about crossdresser Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky than the country’s myriad of problems.

The crossdresser was apprehended at the Seme border while trying to leave Nigeria for Benin Republic.

This comes as the House of Representatives prepares to hold another session to address his leaked audio conversation involving some Nigerians, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS).

In the audio leaked by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky is alleged to have bribed EFCC officials with ₦15 million to drop his money laundering charges.

His claims led to an investigative hearing by the House of Representatives, which the crossdresser had refused to honour.

Reacting, Fayose stated that the treatment meted out on Bobrisky was unfair.

Speaking via social media, he said, “Please, why is Nigerian Immigration Service holding Bobrisky? What has he done? Can’t he travel again?

“They fought him and he went to jail for what others never went to prison for. Prisons has said he served his jail term; he was there and finished his six-month sentence in the prison.

“So, what is your problem? Is it a crime to be a crossdresser? What has he done? Is he the only crossdresser in Nigeria?

“Why is the Nigerian Immigration holding the young man? Why are they chasing him? We have bigger person issues in Nigeria than Bobrisky. It’s time to allow Bobrisky live his life; it’s unfair.”

On her part, Aisha Yesufu, took a swipe at the National Assembly for constituting a panel to investigate the bribery allegations levelled against the cross-dresser rather than focusing on the economic crisis bedeveling the nation.

According to her, the National Assembly has turned itself into a useless institution and an absolute disgrace.

In a video she posted on Monday, October 21, Yesufu wondered why the lawmakers were investigating the matter when they had more serious issues to attend to. According to her, Nigeria is sinking and dying before the very eyes of everyone but the lawmakers are more concerned about handling the Bobrisky/VDM matter which she described as a ‘’minor’ case.

 Describing the panel as an absolute disgrace, Aisha said;

 ‘’This whole Bobrisky saga is a nonsense that I do not know even how to describe it, that a country that its citizens are starving, that its people are suffering, that there is so much hardship in the land, unprecedented hardship; that the National Assembly is now focused on a Bobrisky matter. I cannot fathom. There are agencies that are supposed to do all of that, the EFCC, Police, ICPC, they are already there…go and do your thing and ensure that no wrongdoing was done..but the way and manner in which our National Assembly that should stand on so many issues that affecting our country have decided that they are going to major on the minor.

The National Assembly has turned itself into some useless institution. Amongst the three arms of government, you happen to almost be like the most powerful. You make laws, you can hold executives accountable., rectify treaties, you do confirmation of appointments, you have oversight functions and yet you sit down and waste your time on things that are not things that should not be wasted on. What is wrong with you for goodness sake?

The country is sinking before our very eyes, the country is dying before our very eyes but what is most important to the national assembly is a Bobrisky and Very Dark Man matter…what a disgrace. An absolute disgrace
” she said

Speaking further, Yesufu took on Bobrisky by asking him where he was running to when he was intercepted by Nigeria Immigration Officers at the Seme Border on Sunday night, October 20.

 ‘’Where is he running to? Whether he is a he or a she. I use pronouns that people want to use. Where is she running to? They have summoned you, walk up to them..you talk. If you were the one on the phone running your mouth, go and explain to them. If you were not the one on the phone running your mouth then go and explain to them and tell them it’s not you. Whatever it is, face the consequences of your actions. Why are you running away?”
