Professor Benjamin Okaba, President of Ijaw National Congress has reacted to the face-off between the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Okaba stated during an interview on Arise News that Fubara’s offense was his decision to question the extent of his authority in performing certain duties as the Governor.
The Ijaw leader stated that Fubara is essentially acting as a figurehead in his role as Governor to the extent that he is being challenged by his own commissioners.
In an interview with Arise TV, Prof Ikaba said that ”We have done a thorough analysis, the only offense committed by Fubara is that he had decided to ask questions about his authority to do certain things as a governor of the state.
Professor Benjamin Okaba expressed, “This man, as a governor, has barely traveled out of the state; he is being challenged by his own commissioners. He’s essentially just a figurehead. And he’s asserting that this cannot continue for the progress of Rivers State.”
