Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has cleared the air on a purpoted invitation to dinner, extended to business men of Igbo extraction.
He denied the reports that he invited Igbo captains of industry to a dinner and one-on-one interaction to discuss issues relating to the March 11 governorship election.
In a viral post carrying an invitation card being circulated on social media, it was said that the event was organized by the chairman of Chisco Group of Companies, Chidi Anyaegbu and Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace.
Those who circulated the invitation card claimed that the governor who is seeking reelection wants to use the interaction to appeal to the Igbos in Lagos not to vote against him.
However, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Gboyega Akosile described the invitation as fake saying there is no plan for such a meeting.
According to him, “Kindly disregard this fakery flying around.”
