'Our Experience with Osinachi's Husband When She Was in Hospital' - Brother

It’s been a day of grief, agony and tears as the remains of late notable gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu arrived her hometown in Abia State, South East Nigeria.

Family members, colleagues and lovers of the late singer, could not hold back tears on sighting the motorcade bearing her casket.

The singer with a most amazing sonorous voice died on 4 April 2022. There have been controversies over the cause of her death.

Osinachi is said to have endured years of the most gruesome domestic violence by her husband, Peter Nwachukwu. The accused has, however, denied the claims insisting his wife died of throat cancer.

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court remanded Nwachukwu in Kuje Correctional Facility, despite his denial.

Two months have passed since the incident and the singer’s body was received in her hometown in Amakpoke Umuaku community, Abia State this afternoon for burial.

The Ekwueme crooner was until her death a lead chorister at the headquarters of the Dunamis International Gospel Center in Abuja.

A night of prayer was held in Isochi, Umunoci in Abia state yesterday, June 24. Reports claimed that her husband, Mr Nwachukwu will not be present at the funeral event taking place at her father’s compound.

Nwachukwu is still being tried in court after the family of the wife accused him of subjecting to untold hardship, exploitation and slavery.
