Kaduna Railway Station has been attacked for the 2nd time in 2 days.

This comes as the nation and residents if the state are still coming to terms with the gruesome attack on the rail tracks on Monday in addition to the kidnapping of an unspecified number of the train passengers.

Yesterday evening also, bandits mounted road blocks on the Kaduna-Abuja highway and whisked away many commuters.

The Gidan railway station was attacked on Tuesday forcing railway workers to scamper for safety.

The extent of damage and number of casualties are yet to be ascertained as at press time, however, the attack itself has been confirmed.

The attack on the Gidan train station compelled the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and his entourage who were on a visit to the scene of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack by bandits and were returning to Abuja to stop for some minutes before proceeding on their trip.

Soon after also, security personnel took ver the entire area.

The president of the Nigeria Union of Railway Workers, Innocent Ajiji confirmed the attack to The Cable and added that, “We are yet to determine the extent of damage.”

The development is the second on the Kaduna railway service. The Monday attack recorded scores of deaths and injuries.
