Gunmen Invade Peter Obi’s Hometown (video)

Unknown gunmen have invaded the hometown of former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State.

There was palpable fear in the Agulu community, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra state as the gun and machete-wielding men operated unhindered.

They arrived the country home of the PDP presidential aspirant on Saturday in Hilux trucks and Toyota Jeeps.

Reports also say that the gunmen attacked a military checkpoint mounted along Agulu-Nanka road by Agulu town hall, and shot at the soldiers.

In a viral video, some of the soldiers at a checkpoint were seen running for their lives.

The attack in Agulu is coming barely 24 hours after some gunmen attacked another community in the state on Friday night and killed 5 people in a beer parlour.

In that attack, the assailants according to reports, stormed a restaurant situated at Uto Ndu in Obiofia Village, under Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra at about 8:00 pm and started shooting sporadically.

The owner of the restaurant identified simply as Ụtọ Ndụ (a woman) was also killed in the attack.

Sympathisers, friends and relatives of the victims have taken to social media to mourn their beloved family members.

Remains of the victims have been reportedly transported to a mortuary while security operatives launched a manhunt on the perpetrators.
