Gunmen Kidnap Unspecified Number of Students in Delta State

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have kidnapped a yet-to-be-identified number of students traveling along the East-West road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state.

A security source said that the Sienna conveying the group of students was coming from Calabar in Cross River State when it was hijacked Friday Night within the Evwreni axis.

The source added that the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N10 million.

It would be recalled that on February 24, 8 persons who were returning from Benin City, Edo State to Yenagoa were kidnapped from a Coaster Bus along Ughelli-Patani road, Ughelli North by unknown gunmen after which three female and one male were released.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright in a text message, said, “Not aware yet.”
