No fewer than four persons were reported k!lled when gunmen struck at the Ohii junction located on the Owerri-Orlu Road in Imo State on Monday.
Two of the victims are said to be policemen on duty in the area.
A video clip circulating on various social media platforms shows the lifeless bodies of the victims.
A Facebook user, Anyaeri Bright, who shared a video clip of the incident, confirmed that 2 policemen and two civilians lost their lives in the attack.
The rampaging gunmen opened fire at the junction resulting in the loss of lives of the victims.
The reason for the invasion is not known as at the time of this report.
This is even as some Point of Sales (POS) operators were attacked and monies dispossessed in parts of Owerri on Monday.
Presh Iheanacho said, “Earlier today, around 9:00am, some armed men in a Corolla vehicle attacked some POS shops and passersby just before Rapour Junction. Disposing them of cash and valuables.”
Iheanacho also disclosed that around 8:00am on Monday, some criminals stormed Christiana Junction on Egbu Road and robbed POS operators.
Another resident, Ikechukwu Eze, disclosed that some POS operators were robbed at the Amawire area of Orji on the Owerri-Okigwe Road.
The spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, said he had yet to be informed when contacted.
He promised to make inquiries and get back to our correspondent but had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
