It was a chaotic scene on Saturday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, when sounds of gunshots rang the venue of the mega rally by a group, NEW Associates, loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The rally is being organized by the group coordinated by George Turnah, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the state.
The rally was ongoing when sounds of gunshots resonated across the area.
Normalcy has however been restored.
Addressing journalists after the shooting, Secretary of the NEW Associates in Bayelsa State, Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, said the rally must go on.
Meanwhile, NEW Associates supporters have regrouped to continue the rally.
