Half naked women on Wednesday, stormed the premises of the Federal High Court, Abuja to demand the immediate release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The women, in a video shared on social media by actress Rita Edochie, were seen in only bras and skimpy wrappers while some dressed in ‘Isi Agu,’ an igbo traditional outfit, chanting ‘free our son.’
The IPOB leader is alleged to have been abducted in Kenya in June 2021 while on a private visit and extradited to Nigeria
Kanu, was detained for eight days in Kenya before his repatriation to Nigeria, where he was slammed with charges of terrorism
He continues his trial before Justice Binta Nyako-led Federal High Court, and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The IPOB leader asked the court to discharge and acquit him without standing trial because the charges were incurably defective and not worth being defended.
